Abstract
Author, translator and professor of English, Rex Warner was born 9 March 1905, in Birmingham, England, the son of Frederick Ernest (a clergyman) and Kathleen (Luce) Warner. Educated at Wadham College, Oxford (B.A. with honors, 1928), Warner was a member of the British Home Guard from 1942 until 1945.
