Africa Research Group

 File

Scope and Contents

Africa Research Group was an organization aiming to bring light to American involvement in Africa, taking an anti-imperialist stance against them. Included in the file are several publications distributed by ARG. The first, titled “Southern Africa,” documents and summarizes the human rights violation taking place under apartheid, as well as its ties to United States corporate and political interests. The second document discusses the role of the CIA in Africa, as well as domestically through clandestine funding of groups involved with black culture, in an attempt to push them away from radicalism, and potentially anti-American sentiments. The latter document appears twice in the file.
