Collection of historical information, catalogs, publications, photographs and transparancies, and scrapbooks about the tool manufacturer Pratt & Whitney Company and its successors, collected by Leroy Roberts, a long-time employee of the company.

The Rogers Paper Manufacturing Company was founded in Manchester, Connecticut, by Dutch immigrant Peter Rogers in 1832. In 1900, the Rogers Company began supplying insulated paperboard to electrical transformer manufacturers. The company incorporated in 1901, but thereafter, the company stagnated. It was taken over by a group of Boston financiers and incorporated in Massachusetts in 1927.

The collection consists of payroll ledgers, legal documents such as partnership agreements and by-laws, stock certificates, Board of Directors meeting minutes, ribbon samples on warp order cards, and photographs of a company party in 1939 and of the silk system warper, shown in the company building in Willimantic, Connecticut, after the company closed and soon before the warper was dismantled.

Malcolm D. Rudd was born 3 April 1877 in Lakeville, CT, the son of General William Bearfslee (1838-1901) and Maria Coffing (Holley) Rudd (1842-1914). He was treasurer and general manager of the Holley Manufacturing Company from 1901 until his death in 1942.

The Scovill Manufacturing Company manufactured a variety of metal products from the early nineteenth century to the end of the twentieth century in Waterbury, Connecticut. The collection consists of design plans for various machine tools and equipment as well as typewritten histories about the company, photographs, product catalogs, and employee pins.

The collection contains administrative records, correspondence, financial records, legal documents, maps, notes, publications, preliminary sketches, blueprints, and microfilm from the Seymour Manufacturing Company and the Seymour Specialty Wire Company. The Seymour Manufacturing Company, later renamed the Seymour Specialty Wire Company, produced brass products at several mills along the Naugatuck River for over one hundred years, before closing in 1991.

The Smith family of Canterbury, CT, owned and operated a number of mills in the section of Hanover from the mid-eighteenth century until the 1940s. The original site on Little River, north of Hanover and Woodchuck Hill Roads, became the home to five successive generations of Smiths.

The Somersville Manufacturing Company was established in 1879 by Rockwell Keeney and produced fine woolens in Somersville, Connecticut. The company was run by members of the Keeney family for the 90 years of its existence. The collection consists of administrative and financial records, marketing materials, photographs, scrapbooks, and correspondence.

Established in January 1878 as the District Telephone Company of New Haven, Connecticut; opened the world's first telephone exchange that same year. Reorganized as the Southern New England Telephone Company in 1882. Provided telephone service to residents in the state of Connecticut until 1998.

Collections consists of items associated with business history in Connecticut, including a cigar box of F.D. Grave & Son Muniemaker Cigars in New Haven and four prints of artwork of industrial sites in Willimantic and Mansfield, Connecticut.

The history of the Wauregan Mills, the Quinebaug Company and other related mills is very much tied to the history of the Atwood family. The collection includes family records and materials as well as records of the Wauregan Mills, Wauregan Company, Quinebaug Mill, Wauregan-Quinebaug Company, and Wauregan Mills, Inc.
