Biographical / Historical

Sal (Salvatore) Scalora graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Fine Arts (1971) and the Art Institute of Chicago (sculpture). A professor of fine arts, Scalora was also a recipient of a Yale University visiting fellowship, Scalora was the Director of the Atrium Gallery, and later the William Benton Museum of Art, on the Storrs campus of the University. He is also the author of Home Alters of Mexico (1997), Outsider Art from Europe: A Selection of Works on Paper (1988).
