Biographical / Historical
DuRell Echols (professionally E. D. Echols) was introduced as a diction and musical coach, whose skills also included articulation, vocal characterization, language instruction, and choral preparation. Echols moved to Munich, Germany, to study at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik after receiving his B.A. from Howard University and his M.A. in German from Columbia University. Living in Munich since 1955, studied and later provided instruction in Liede and opera interpretation, and used his experience to provide diction and musical coaching for organizations like the Munich Bach choir and well-known and award winning international singers.
