Biographical / Historical
Luane Lange was born in Detroit Michigan on 5 February 1937, the daughter of William F. and Valerie (Vogelei) Lange. Luane graduated from Dearborn High School (1955) and her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University. She received her master's from the University of Connecticut and a certificate of advanced studies from the University of Massachusetts. She taught public schools, particularly five years at East Lyme High School. She joined the faculty of the Cooperative Extension System at UConn in 1977, retiring as professor emeritus in 2000. One of her final projects was conducting oral histories documenting 20th century agriculture in Connecticut.
Luane Lange died on 22 June 2017.
