Calabretta Collection of 1960s Memorabilia
Abstract
Fred's long standing interest in his generation and his experiences around the Vietnam War era led to the creation of a personal collection of ephemera, books, audio visual, correspondance, newspapers and magazines from the period. The topics covered in his collection of 1960s material include politics (Kennedy, Johnson and Nixon administrations), the War in Vietnam, the New Left, the anti-war movement, music, fashion, culture, commercialism, labor, and religion. Major news grabbing historical moments are also documented such as: Kent State Shootings, John F. Kennedy assasination, Martin Luther King jr. assasination, Robert F. Kennedy Assasination, Democratic Convention 1968, Charles Manson, British Invasion, and the Moon landing. His collection was amassed largely through online auctions, ephemera shows and second hand bookstores.
