The Environmental Health and Safety department at the University of Connecticut is tasked with promoting and maintaining a healthy and safe environment by ensuring the highest level of health and safety services for faculty, staff, students, and visitors at the university. The department has mad it its goal to improve communication between the university and its community in order to adher to health and safety standards on a campus wide basis. A part of the university's Division of Public and Environmental Safety, Environmental Health and Saftey focuses on four areas of safety. These include biological, chemical, occupational, and radiation safety. Environmental Health and safety is also responsible for maintaining waste management across the university.
