Scope and Content

The collection contains the correspondence between various Coe and Heller family members in Epsy, Pennslyvania, and Wolcott, Connecticut, from circa 1897 through 1961 in 813 letters. Letters are sorted into broad categories by writer and recipient. Larger categories include letters to and from Marion McCorkle Heller to her husband George Heller (1920s-1940s), letters to and from Marion Heller Coe ("Betty") to her fiance and then husband Albert Coe (1945-1946) and letters from Marion "Betty" Heller Coe to her parents George and Marion Heller (1940s-early 1960s). The collection also includes approxomately 50 letters to and from other family members but the vast majority of the letters are among these four persons.
