Fitts Family Papers
Scope and Content
The Fitts Family Papers consists of chronologically arranged correspondence, legal papers, bills and receipts, tax records, deeds, promissory notes and other papers dating from 1770 through 1909. Also included are election notices, a physicians note and an auction notice.

Biography
The papers concern three individuals from Ashford, Windham County, CT. Stephen Fitts, John Moore and Frederick Knowlton are all mentioned in the papers. One 1834 letter of interest was written by Lorraine Preston, probably the sister of John Moore, describing the migration to Ohio and the great opportunities that existed there at the time.
