Greater Hartford Labor Council, AFL-CIO Records
Scope and Content
The collection includes official minutes, correspondence, legal and financial documents, publications, photographs and related ephemera pertaining to the Greater Hartford Labor Council and its predecessor organizations. The minutes for the GHLC are incomplete although the years 1968 through 1978 are more comprehensively documented. Within the files of the President and Recording Secretary of the GHLC are materials pertaining to community service and public education.
Of particular interest is the relationship of the GHIUC-CIO with the State Council and the allegations of communist sympathies within the labor movement.
