Scope and Content Note
The collection contains newspaper clippings, publications, maps, administrative records, and a scrapbook. It includes a copy of the 1943 Biennial Report of General George C. Marshall, Chief of Staff of the United Sates Army, entitled "Victory is Certain". The scrapbook maintained by Wilcox that displays an award citation, photos, newspaper clippings, postcards , foreign currency, pressed flowers, and othe memorabalia for his time in Europe during WWII. Also in the collection are clippings from Army publications and war maps.

Biography
Dexter Wilcomb was a Technician Third Grade in the U.S. Army who fought in World War II. He belonged to the 165th Engineer Combat Battalion and recieved a Bronze Star Medal for "meritorious service in connection with military operations against an enemy of the United States during the period 15 January to 8 March 1945." Mr. Wilcomb's unit was involved in the liberation of the concentration camp at Dachau.

Abstract
