Biography
Robert W. Stallman was born 27 September 1911, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin (A.B. 1933, M.A. 1939, Ph.D. 1942) and was appointed Associate Professor of English at the University of Connecticut in 1949. He was promoted to Professor in 1952 and retired in 1974.
