Author George Feifer discusses his book Breaking Open Japan, a history of American relations with Japan, starting from Commodore Perry's landing through Pearl Harbor and beyond. Interviewed by Davyne Verstandig, Director of LCWP, and Tina Reardon, Professor of Asian American Studies. This presentation is part of the Litchfield County Writers Project, which was based at the Torrington campus of the University of Connecticut.
