Abstract Mary Wood Forman was born on 17 November 1918 in Mussoorie, India, where her parents served as Presbyterian missionaries. Her family moved in 1923 to Columbus, Ohio. Forman graduated from Ohio State University in 1940 and received a Masters degree in Social Work from Western Reserve University in 1944.
